Has anyone ever used an Akadema brand baseball glove? Can you recommend a good quality first baseman's mitt?
My son plays high school baseball and is a left handed 1st baseman. I’m tiresome to find him a excellent glove and there aren’t many to choose from for left handed players. Has anyone ever tried Akadema strain? I was just wondering if this is a excellent make – will it hold up for a couple of years?

Congrats to your son for sticking with ball all the way into high school. Tough to make high school teams. A couple of my kids play ball. They are both lefties. One played baseball, the other plays club fastpitch softball and high school ball. Yes, Akadema is one of the best glove makers out there. They are I reckon the only one that has opened a new baseball and softball glove manufacturing facility in the USA in the last 20 years. They make some really excellent stuff. There are other excellent brands also such as Nokona, Glovesmith and the usuals. Anyhow try out out the Akadema ADJ 154, ACW 57 , or ABB 53 models. These gloves should last owing to his institution playing days and beyond if he breaks it in right and takes care of it. Use the manufacturers glove conditioner, not oil and go out and play a lot of bump. Wipe it down with games to keep the dirt off and re-shape up only if it really needs it. Usually only a couple era a time of year no topic what kind of glove you use.
I don’t urge Akadema in view of the fact that I place of safeguard’t tried it (heard it was excellent)
I rather Rawlings or Mizuno.
I’ve tried on this glove- http://www.hitrunscore.com/abb53-akadema-initially-base-mitt.html
And it is pretty nice.
I have this glove – http://www.weplaysports.com/Rawlings/Pujols/
I highly urge it if money isn’t a conundrum.
largest business is comfort and flexibility in the glove, the strain is not vital in my mind. I’ve been by the same glove for 15 years now in view of the fact that I like how it’s broken in (got it while playing babe ruth and have been on and off with softball by it, and I’ve played initially frequently during the softball years). I’ve had to fix innumerable things about it, but I wouldn’t trade it for any other glove in the planet at this point.
take him to some sports stores, find one that fits and is comfortable for how huge/small his hands are (also if he likes wearing a batting glove try them on with one on), and try and predict how well it will break in. forget the strain.

I own two Akadema certified gloves, a pitcher’s ATY-132 and an outfielder’s AXX21. These gloves are made of EXTREMELY high feature select steer hide. The feature of the leather makes it tiresome to break in, but nothing that chip cream can’t soubriquet. I play varsity baseball for my high school, and these gloves are the best funds i have made. I promise they will last your son much longer than a couple of years. I highly urge this strain, even if you don’t buy the certified grade.
